Default Center channel behind screen ?

Just wondering if the audio would degrade a lot if i were to place the channel behind my front projection screen. The screen is like 5 ft high and the ceiling is only about 7 ft. This would only leave like 1.5 feet on the bottom to put it there and i think that would be worse. Any thoughts ?

better off UNDER, and angled slightly UPWARD.

Behind (unless it's an acoustically transparent screen) is a terrible idea.

Agreed. If you want to put the center channel behind the screen, you need to get an acoustically transparent screen.
