Default Opinions on PSB's

I'm thinking of upgrading my old CV's with PSB's.
B25 fronts
C40 center
B15 rears

These will be driven by my H/K 254 amp. I'll be using a DSP 12" velodyne sub.
These speakers are within my price range of under $1000.
The room is 12' by 21'

Does anyone own these speakers or can offer an opinion on this upgrade???
and yes I have heard them, I just want your impressions.
Thanks

I'm not really a fan of PSB i find them very bright sounding. What other speakers have you auditioned.

I disagree. PSB makes a variety of different speakers from mid level to very high end. I have listned to many of their speakers and they are excellent. Many high end audio magazines have selected their more recent creations as speakers of the year.

I dont think they are bright sounding AT ALL. I find them to very warm and neutral...excellent midrange and punch. I LOVE MY SET UP. Cant go wrong with ANY speaker that PSB makes.

Considering the ones you listed I would look into and call saturday audio. Awesome prices and they ship to your door.

www.saturdayaudio.com

From them I would get the T45, C40 and B15. All will have same woofer size and have heard this combo sounds great for music and movies

I love PSB and will only move up in the PSB lines as I upgrade in the future

PSB would be a superb upgrade from Cerwin Vega. To some people they are a little bright, but not like Klipsch bright. I would say that they are on the "sweet side" (extended highs but not fatiguing) instead of the warm sounding side (definate midrange presence) - but not on the harsh side (high frequencies are very dominate especially at the 14-18khz range) at all.

I'm a step closer to picking up the Psb's I just want to hear them again. Other than that the only other hesitation I have is using smaller 5" drivers for rears than the 6" fronts. Due to space and wall mounting restraints I have to go smaller in the rears.
For you experts out there will I still get good sound coverage with smaller rears.
Just to remind you i'm looking at PSB:
B25 fronts
B15 rears
C40 center

Any last bit of advice before I take the plunge is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I was a big fan of them in the 80's with West End Girls but have since lost interest in their newest releases

PSB....we are discussing the Pet Shop Boys group right

I agree, I am not a huge fan of PSB's either. I thought the same thing of them. Overrated in my opinion. But not everyone likes the same thing, OP you might like them

That is funny. PSB stands for Paul and Sue Barton.

Paul Barton, the founder of PSB, is one of Canada's most well-known speaker designer.

Brand new PSB speakers are available on Ebay. You can also try this dealer. They have a huge sale on PSB speakers.
