Default advice please,...Marantz/Denon/Pioneer???

I'd like to take advantage of the falling BluRay disc prices and buy my first BR player. I'm looking at the Marantz BD 7003 ($750.00 Cdn.), Denon DVD-A1UD although I don't know what the expected retail price is...., the Pioneer Elite BDP05 ($799.00 Cdn.) and Denon DVD-2500BTCI ($750.00)

I'm not interested in BD-Live, but looking for the best image/sound quality for the $$$.
I have a HD Panasonic Plasma TV and Yamaha 7.1 sound system.

Are there other disc players I should be considering around the same level as the ones above?

Thank you!!

Robert

Two months ago, the Panasonic BD55 has been quoted as THE best stand-alone BD-player money can buy (by several reviews / sources); better than the three you mentioned. You can do a search on this forum, or send a PM to HDTV1080P.

Recently, this title has been taken by the Pinoeer BD09 Elite (for about $2K). The other Denon player you also mentioned (available soon) will probably go for about CAN-$ 4K. If you can wait longer, the Oppo might(!) beat the Panasonic, but is not yet widely available.

Good luck choosing!

Thanks guys! I just read a little on the Oppo...the first time I've heard of this company. Where is this unit made? It looks to be an excellent choice and I'm pleased to see USB available. It seems that waiting awhile is prudent given all the new releases about to take place...Panasonic, Sony etc.
Denon A1UD...$4000.00
