Like Rhylliam said, digipak. Still I thought it was a good buy, especiall for the price, 40 USD at Best Buy. I can see where some would compliane about the PQ, but its good enough for now.

Nope...It's like this..

I actually prefer digipacks but they're hard to come by with Blu-ray. It's a lot less expensive to just throw it in a case. That's the only thing I miss about DVD. They did a nice job with physical presentation. Some of the dvd packaging was really appealing!

Can I ask a dumb question? I'm not too familiar with the series, why are parts 2, 3, and 4 bundled together as a separate package? Is there some story arc that part 1 is not involved in or something?

Thats basically it. They are a story arc involving Spock.

The first Trek is my least favorite and I would not recommend that being the first one you watch.

Ha, you're not the first person to recommend that I skip over part 1 and just start with Wrath of Khan.

lol, I've seen all the treks but 1 because I heard it was a bit slow. After last night I easily rank it as the worst trek movie I've seen, even below 5.

I just have to say I watched both Star Trek The Movie (#1) and Wrath of Khan for the first time this week. I thought the first one was slow but overall much better than Wrath of Khan. For some reason I was expecting a lot more from this after hearing so much about it.

Anway, I suggest watching the first at some point. I found the story to be very interesting after taking it all in.

I agree, the first film grew on me after I saw it for the third time a few years ago. It's not my favorite by far but I knew I was getting the collection because I had to have the Motion Picture.

I have to disagree. The Motion Picture is one of the best of the six, in my opinion. Sure, it's more cerebral, spiritual and philosophical but it's a great journey. I can understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea but over the years, it has easily made it into my top three Trek films and it looks awesome on Blu for a film of that age. It has aged better than than a lot of movies of the seventies.
