Default Onkyo 507,607 or Yammy 465,565?

I'm looking to replace my Onkyo TX-SR502 with a receiver with HDMI connections. I'm looking to upgrade my receiver so I can play Blu-Rays in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. Upscaling analog signals to 1080p isn't important to me because I rarely watch a non-HD broadcast or a DVD. I don't play video games either. My home theater is in a townhouse condo and I only have the space/need for 5 speakers and a sub. I've been looking at the Onkyo 507 and 607 as well as the Yamaha 465 and 565. Which one would you recommend and why? My current system is:

TV: Sony KP-51WS500
Receiver: Onkyo TX-SR502
BD player: Samsung BDP-1500
Speakers: Polk RM6200
Subwoofer: Polk PSW250

Thanks in advance for your help!

Unless the specs here are wrong, it appears that player cannot decode DTS-HD MA or TrueHD. It can send them both out via bitstream, however. Both Onkyo models do decode. I'm not sure about the Yamaha models. That'd be the only thing I'd make sure of.

Any of them will drive your speaker setup.

What is your budget? You will need to get a receiver that can decode, I would say the Onkyo 607 or a Denon 1909 or perhaps the Yammy 663, or the Pioneer 1019. I would suggest trying to listen to the reciever too before buying it.

i was thinking about getting a onkyo 506 to go with the surround sound i have in my bedroom...i have polk speakers and a sony 1080p upconvert hdmi dvd player.

in my living room i have a ps3 and a onkyo 606 with polk speakers.

but just for a dvd player would a onkyo 506 be alright?

i have a 56 " lcd samsung in the living room and a 42" lcd sony in the bedroom. 1080p. Anyone that has a 506 are they pretty good..Im not a fanatic or anything i just like it to sound good and work.

Move the 606 to the bedroom and get a Onkyo 706 or 806 for LR

I'm willing to spend up to $500 on a new receiver. I was looking at the Onkyo 606 last winter until I read some negative reviews on it. CNET said the 606 had "subpar video processing". Does anyone know if the 607 has corrected this problem?

dont worry about the video processing.
i personally dont 'upconvert' anything on my 806. my directv hd21 receiver i have everything set to 'native' so......whatever hd a station is, is what the receiver outputs....NO UPSCALING/DOWNSCALING ala comcast where you can onkly pick ONE output (720p/1080i) and not 'native output'

whatever signal i give the receiver(onkyo) it pass-thru to the tv
ex....espn = 720p so the directv sends out 720p, receiver receives 720p & sends out 720p to tv UNTOUCHED
hbo = 1080i so the directv sends out 1080i, receiver receives 1080i & sends out 1080i to tv UNTOUCHED

if i watch a blu-ray then its an untouched 1080p signal going from ps3, thru receiver to tv (though i dont have 1080p hdtv yet, you understanmd what im talking about)

For what I'm looking to get out of a new receiver, do I really need to go w/ the Onkyo 607 or Yammy 565? I don't have the space to run a 7.2 system, so that's not a feature I need. What other features does the Onkyo 607 or Yammy 565 have that I would miss if I bought the 507 or 465?
