Default Robocop - A question (and sad tale)

Hi gang,

I was recently at a MovieStop in FL, and I had asked several employees there if they had seen Robocop on Blu-Ray.

Apparently, the employees of said movie store are not fans of movies, as one said, and I quote: "No. In fact, Blu-ray is on its way out. I wouldn't waste your money on that format. Besides, all old movies on BR look like crap anyways."

The other counter monkey said that he had only seen two blu-rays in his life, and Robocop wasn't one of them. Two BRs. In his life. And he works, in a store, surrounded by movies.

Now after I argued with the first guy for 10 minutes, defending 'old' films such as Godfather and Die Hard in their quality transfer to this 'fading' format, and sadly shook my head at the second guy, my buddy suggested I go to a more intelligent source.

So gang, who's seen it on BR, and how's it look? I ask b/c the aforementioned store had it on sale for 12.99, but here's the thing: I own the Criterion version, which is OOP, and it's unrated, like the BR version.

I didn't want to re-buy it unless it was well worth it. I'll never sell the Crit. version, but is it much better or one of those grainy transfers?

Thanks in advance,
