Default What to do with non-working 56" DLP

Ok, here's the situation. A guy from work has a 3 year old Samsung 56" DLP, model is HL-R5667W. About a month ago, it started acting weird, just wouldn't turn on so he called a tech guy out and he told my friend that it's probably a bad DMD board and my friend should just get a new tv so he did. But now my friend has this 56" DLP monster tv that he ended up just moving into his guest room.

How can he get rid of the old tv? He doesn't think a place like goodwill will take it since it's big and doesn't work 100%. He put it up on craigslist for a bit thinking someone might want it for spare parts or someone who fixes tv would buy it and they could probably fix it themselves for cheap but no hits so far. Any hints? Thanks.
