Does PS3 need to be connected to the router with an Ethernet cable or can you access the internet by wireless?

... it does both wireless and wired.

But you have to have wireless to use wireless, or someone elses wifi to steal from.

As long as there is a Wi-fi signal and you have access to it then the PS3 does not need the Ethernet Cable. I have a Wi-fi enabled router but I still use the Ethernet cable just because I believe it's faster and slightly more secure.

Except the 20gb but that version is no longer on the market as of a hecka long time..

there is only one model that does not have built in wifi and that is the 20gb version.

IF you do have wireless router, then you don't need wired to hook up the ethernet port

If you don't have wireless router, then you need to wired to hook up the ethernet port.

i have wireless internet but whenever i try to mess with the network settings it says i need to have an ethernet cable plugged in

You need to select wireless instead of wired.

is there a way to see how much memory your PS3 has cause i bought mine used and the guy didn't remember how much it had. he said he paid $400 for it though.

cool answer, but just remember your not the one paying for it. You might get blocked. Just go buy a wireless, works great.

yes just go under settings and i forget which one it is but in the settings section there is a specific place on there to check to see how many gbs you have left on your ps3 and it will give you an idea on what ps3 you got

I was just being honest..

Some places have a large area wifi, like a public wifi, and by
steal that was not meant literally of course I would never condone
stealing a internet connection from someone who doesn't lock there
stuff down.
