Default Star Trek movies

... when will we get special BD re-releases featuring all the first 6 movies TOTALLY RESTORED?

As far as I know, only #2 has been fully restored or not?

On the other hand, we need a remastering/restoration of the Next Generation series too.

Thumbs up

Nobody knows, the current theory is they're going to do something when 2009 hits blu-ray. That's why I switched out my trilogy for the 6 movie set, I doubt they're going to release a 1, 5 and 6 set. I want all of the movies, except 2009.

so you didn't enjoy the scenes with the Enterprise? I went back to watch the movie again just for the scenes with the Enterprise, the sound/visuals of the movie are incredible. Going back probably this weekend to see it again

Not all of them necessarily need to be fully restored. If a film is still in fine shape (as many films are), then just a modern transfer is necessary.

All the Star Trek films were full theatrical presentations, so they don't suffer from the standard definition based materials that the TV shows did (or still do in the case of TNG, DSN, and Voyager). The only one that definitely needs work is the Director's Cut of Star Trek: The Motion Picture, as that extra work for the director's cut was done in standard definition for release into the home video market and never shown theatrically to my knowledge.

While the current 6-pack of Star Trek movies has some disappointments in it, the most aggravating faults are bits of extra digital processing done to the films after-the-fact. Just getting a transfer of the films in their current condition and then NOT doing EE or DNR or whatever the hell they did to them would result in much nicer looking discs - no 'full restoration' necessary.

Quite frankly, I was expecting an EVEN BIGGER treatment for them. I mean, we're talking about Star Trek, the most pivotal series in the last 40 years or so.
