![]() I can't believe I'm saying this, but the new Star Trek movie is just better than The Wrath Of Khan. (Now let's hope a Trekkie comes into my house with a chainsaw! ![]() |

I thought the most recent film was the worst of the bunch, everything that made Star Trek cool and relevant (social commentary, philosophy, etc...) was discarded and replaced by mindless, gratuitous action. I understand part of the reason for a reboot was to bring in new fans, but the new fans are going to reference decades of existing franchise content and not get it. ...that is what happens when people are put in charge of franchise projects and are not familiar with the franchise themselves. What's next? Silvester Stallone doing a remake of "Hamlet"? |

I think I would have to go with the ratings on IMDB:
#1 - ST2: Wrath of Khan (7.8) #2 - ST8: First Contact (7.6) #3 - ST4: Voyage Home (7.3) #4 - ST6: Undiscovered Country (7.2) #5 - ST3: Search for Spock (6.5) #6 - ST7: Generations (6.4) #7 - ST9: Insurrection (6.4) #8 - ST10: Nemesis (6.4) #9 - ST1: The Motion Picture (6.2) #10 - ST5: The Waste of Time ... um ... The Final Frontier (4.9) Also, do not include XI yet. You haven't seen it a gazilion times yet to compare properly. Does it hold up over time test. Last edited by tilallr1; 05-21-2009 at 08:37 PM. |

II Great Film (Much Like the Series)
VI Another fun Film (Much Like the Series) IV The One with the comedy Then III - Christopher Loyd as a Klingon....ummm yeah. Dumb I - An ok film that has grown on me. Still very long and not something I would not watch all the time. V- The worst but did have its moments. I love the whole Yosemite thing at the begining and Kik's "Go Climb A Rock" T -Shirt from the Yosemite Mountain Climbing School. (Nice to know thats still around 200 years from now) ![]() Ummm.....the rest of the films Nothing exists after that. TNG is not Star Trek and the new film is painful to watch...nice special effects but not much else. Would make a good xbox game I suppose. |

Wrath of Khan
First Contact Search For Spock The Voyage Home The Undiscovered Country Insurrection The Motion Picture The Final Frontier Generations Nemesis Star Trek Bear in mind, I didn't hate the new movie, it will just never be genuine Star Trek in my opinion; also, while the new cast was great, they will never come close to matching my love for the TOS and TNG casts. So even though "Nemesis" and "Generations" were pretty much terrible, I've ranked them higher for this reason. |

Oh, and saying that Stallone doing a remake of "Hamlet" makes me wanna hang a poor teddy bear. The Razzie-king knows better than that. |
