Default Western Digital External Hard Drive

I am looking at getting a external hard drive. I can't decide between two different hard drives, both put out by WD.

One is the professional series and the other is not. Does anyone know what the professional series is? As far as I can tell thats the only difference between the two drives.

Here's a link to the two that i'm looking at.

Here's a page that will give you the differences between the hard drives WD offers. I use the "home" editions and they are quite nice and never had an issue.

BTW, you might want to check the prices for these at Newegg. They tend to have much better prices than BB.

Don't know if you are dead set on the 2TB-but I was just at Costco this afternoon and they have both WD 1TB and the 1.5TB for around $139.

Fry's has great prices too. Personally I go with Buffalo Tech drives. I have a WD 500GB which requires seperate power, and a 1TB BT that is similar. Along with those I have 160GB, 320GB amd 2x 500GB BT USB drives that are pocketable and "shock resistant". I haven't been willing to test the shock resistant claim.
