i've only seen 1 of lynch's films and a few of cronenbergs, but i loved muholland drive immediately after watching it. i'm not sure how to explain it, but lynch's movie just pulled me in more than any of cronenberg's ever have, and i'm excited to see more of lynch's work....lost highway will be next, followed by blue velvet and eventually eraserhead once i'm able to gain my sanity back

I picked they both suck and so do you. Not because I don't like either one of them, but because I REALLY like both of them and couldn't possibly choose between the two, and you suck for trying to make me

Off topic, I just IMDB'd the Dead Zone to see if was a movie I remembered watching. Rufus Sewell kind of looks like Christpher Walken when he was younger.

Deleted all aside from what I've watched. Bolded what I really enjoyed.

Lynch:
1984 Dune 1

Cronenberg:
The Fly (1986)
Crash (1996) (Didn't lik it at all)
Eastern Promises (2007) (not a bold but enjoyable)

I still want to see A History of Violence.

Lynch. Because noone describes other peoples film's as being Cronenbergian, but you hear Lynchian all the time. Maybe because it rolls off the tongue easier.

I'll go with Lynch, final answer.

But you asked for details as to why, so here's why:
For both filmmakers, I do not like their entire body of work.
That being said the only reason Lynch edged out Cronenberg in my final choice is that Cronenberg ruined me with Crash. Seriously warped my mind. The film never needed to be made and I still can never look at a car crash without thinking of this film.

Of course, Eraserhead, comes close to Crash as Lynch put things in there simply to annoy his audience, which he seems to happily admit or had back in the day.

But in the end, Lynch has the edge for me over Cronenberg.

Of course I don't, I like both of them... but I'm ever so slightly leaning towards Lynch... If it weren't for Eastern Promises I would have voted for Lynch.

Cronenberg for me, I like most of what he as done so far he is a very good story teller..Eastern Promises is a good example of that.

Wow! Close race between Cronenberg and both David's along with the OP.

I think every poll should have an option like the last one!

I thought the second part of the last option would make it a blow out.

I wanted people to give in to their pent up hate and anger over my comments
