Default Failed blu-ray burn--Error code: 0xeb020b88

Hello,

I just bought the LG BE06LU11 external blu-ray burner for a PC. I am running Windows XP on a Dell machine. I burned 5 blu-ray discs fine that held data, music, and files. By the way, I'm using the Panasonic 50GB blu-ray BD-RDL discs, part number LM-BR50WU5.

The problem occurs when I try to burn high definition video files that get as big as 10GB. I chose UDF 2.6 in the Power2Go burning software options. Both times, I get the error code 0xeb020b88, and they failed the burn. Can anyone give me any help or tips?

The first time I did the high def. video burn, it said this: "The disc will be formatted as POW mode first. Do you want to continue?" I said yes, and it failed the burn. I have no idea what this means???

The second time I did the high def. video burn, it ran for a longer period of time, but still failed the burn. Also, I did not get that message about formatting the POW mode this time around.

Then I tried using the Power2Go Express version of the software. As far as I can tell, I could not tell this software version that I wanted it to use UDF 2.6, so I just added the files, and then I got this: "Burning an ISO image to POW disc may occur error if the ISO image is not from a POW disc. Do you want to continue?" I hit NO and did not try this burn. I have no idea what this means???

Thanks in advance,
Seteeet

Try using ImgBurn, and set it to a UDF 2.50 structure. Just so I'm clear on you situation, you are trying to burn an ISO onto the disc or is it just a video file?

i hope you are using a 50gb RE because that must be really expensive to have failed burns of 50gb R. yeah try imgburn, thats what i use, i don't recall if ive had any files over 10gb in size though, and i have never used with 50g discs only 25. but never had any issues either. imgburn is free too.

Default What is ISO?

Thanks for replies...I'm trying to burn video files obtained from my two camcorders:

1. Canon Vixia HF10 camcorder records in high definition M2TS files (I have not edited these at all, they are straight from the camcorder)

2. Sony MPEG Movie Files (same, no editing, straight from camcorder)

Will these files still work on imgburn software?

What is ISO anyway?

Thanks in advance,
Seteeet

I'm assuming that you want to play the videos on your stand alone player. Does your stand alone player supports AVCHD? If yes, then you will need to use tsMuxer to create a Blu-ray image, and then use ImgBurn to burn it to your BD50.

Here's the definition for ISO.

Quote:
An ISO image is an archive file (also known as a disk image) of an optical disc in a format defined by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). This format is supported by many software vendors. ISO image files typically have a file extension of .ISO. The name ISO is taken from the ISO 9660 file system used with CD-ROM media, but an ISO image can also contain UDF file system because UDF is backward-compatible with ISO 9660.

Format

As with any other archive, an ISO image includes all the data of files contained on the archived CD/DVD. They are stored in an uncompressed format. In addition to data of the files it also contains all the file system metadata, including boot code, structures, and attributes. ISO images do not support multi-track, thus they cannot be used for audio CDs, VCD, and hybrid audio CDs.

These properties make it an attractive alternative to physical media for the distribution of software as it is simple to transfer over the Internet or via a LAN connection.

ISO image is an unattached file format (like RAR and ZIP): it merges a series of files into one single file according to a definite format. The most important feature of an ISO image is that it can be burned to a DVD or CD by using an ISO image burner, like ISO Maker. It can also be opened using archivers such as 7-zip file manager.

Default Actually, I just want to back them up..

Actually, I just want to backup my video files to a blu-ray 50GB write once disc. I don't want to play them on the blu-ray drive external to PC at this point. I guess 2people have recommended that I try software imgburn, which I will try on a re-writable disc. If it works, then I will burn on the 50GB write once discs. Thanks everyone, will update what happens. Set
