Default Time well wasted.

I was wondering who here finds themselves playing around with their HT more than actually watching movies on it. I assume I will start to enjoy it more now that I have run out of money to upgrade, but it seem there is always something to tweak. Am I alone?

No you are not alone...I am always tweaking the first time I got my set up but now I am all set.I still want to make minor changes on some equipment but I have to wait a while for that.

It does not end with the equipment either. I have been toying with the idea of a darker paint but given it is also a family room I dont want to go too dark. The wife is completely against painting the ceiling tiles so that is out.

My wife loves the upgrades just hates the price tags. I like to show her the real expensive stuff and let her know I am settling.

Not home theater, but lately I've been rearranging and readjusting my guitar rig non-stop. I actually had to setup a basic, head through cab satellite rig just to play in between redesigns.

More stuff = more hassles.

I am either always tweaking or buying new equipment. It is like an obsession where I 'think" I can get the extra 1 db or just that much more clarity from my set-up. If aesthetics are important to you, then there is just never going to be an end either. I have both of these "issues" and there appears to be no end in sight. I constantly move my stuff around, looking for better placement and/or aesthetics. Or I will read about other members or come up with an idea as a tweak, and build a riser, decoupler, even speaker stands, remove/add a pieces of furniture or purchase better equipment......all in the endless pursuit of video/audio perfection.......until I am

I think the obsession is more for the new equipment than tweaking but you know what you have to thank the wife sometime for keeping that "leash" on you every now and then.

I find the community page does not help either. All of the great setups people are showing off only makes me want more. This site has really educated me (and continues to) on everything AV but it is a double edged sword.

That is just it, she has "given" me this one room, so I want it just right. Everytime I move or build something, she shakes her head, but also is impressed with some of my ingenuity/building skills, as she will say it looks good. Asking her if she hears/sees a difference.....uhhhh...stopped doing that a while ago, but it looks/sounds better to me!

I spend more time cleaning it than watching movies on it.

The latest thing I did was change the hard drive on my PS3 but I really need some curtains for the window behind my HT and some wall decorations.
