Is PSP the only option for playing music on PS3

depends on how your audio is set up, do you have a surround system or are you speakers the ones on the TV itself? if you have surround, then wit hthe reciever on, you dont need the tv on to play audio you wouldnt be able to really control what was playing, but i guess if you set it up beforehand it would work

You mean remote play through an iPhone? I doubt that'll ever come, although Sony is making a phone that will be able to do it. Supposed to come out this year I think. (Called the Aino if I remember right)

sony is making a phone that can remote connect with PS3??? what carrier is that going to be on?

A Sony phone... cool... Is this Sony trying to compete with the iphone?

I'm putting all my music on the PS3. I'm an old dog that has refused to get a cell phone but my daughter & sil recently got iphones and they love them. It got me thinking if it could control the music on the PS3 I'd break down and get one.

Yep, in direct competition with the iPhone I believe. This thing has a LOT of nice features, but it's going to be pretty expensive. Here's the page on it:
