Default Playing music from MP3 Folder on PC thru PS3

I'm not very technically savy... so bare with me....
I've searched this forum to see if I could find an answer to my problem but I couldn't find anything.
Here's the deal.
Thru my PS3 I can see my MP3 music folder I have on my PC.
I can go inside it and see all the folders that are in there listed by artist names.
I can play music from any of these folders.
So I went in and created a new folder in the MP3 folder and dropped a lot of various music into this folder - to play for a party.
Then I arranged all this music into the order I wanted it to play for the party.
I can see this music and play it from my PS3 just fine.
The issue is that it plays the music in this folder in alphabetical order by artist name - no matter the order I have them listed in the folder on my PC.
How can I fix this and get my music to play in the order I want it to? Is this a PS3 setting?
Or is there another way I can do this?
I went to a lot of trouble to create this playlist for this party. I just want it to play in the order I have it! Its over 6 hours worth - I don't want to copy all this music to the PS3 - hubby would shoot me! (and I can't ask him how to do it because this party is a surprise bday party for him)

Thanks in Advance!

Unfortunately this is what the ps3 does. It drove me nuts too. Best thing to do would be to download all of your music to your ps3 and arrange a play list on your ps3.

It is kind of kludge-y, but you can number your songs, and by that I mean rename all the songs and put the number in front of them in the order you want them played. If you do this, make sure that do 001, 002, 003, etc. instead of 1, 2, 3, etc., so that the songs don't play in the order 1, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 2, 20, 21, 22, 23, etc.

You seem to be going through an awful lot of trouble for this party, he should be very appreciative of this!

BTW, good nick for a grrl, J/K!

That's actually a good idea - h*ll I've spent this much time on it -
On the pc - they are in order - I could just start at the top numbering....

I come by the nicky honestly

Hook your PC to your stereo system and let the PC do the job, its the only viable solution for now.

In fact, to make the task less tedious, go to www.download.com and search for a program called 'renamer'. There will be a few results that pop up, so use your best judgment. The one I use (generically called ReNamer...) lets you manipulate file names all day long with ease and let's you set up 'rules' for commonly executed tasks. For example I have two rules set up, one that replaces all spaces in filenames with _ and then one that replaces all _ in filenames with spaces. It also let's you add a serialized prefix to filenames. Good stuff.

Let me know how it goes.
