Default The Annual-Ritual Movie

Do you have a movie that you watch every year without fail? Maybe it's a holiday classic of yours, or a favorite that calls for annual visits. Is there a movie that you watch on the same day every single year? Which movie of yours to you hold the highest reguard for and would never do without?

It probably will be for me from now on as well.
I think I was the only person on the planet who hadn't watched that movie the whole way through in one sitting until I saw it several times on TBS's 24 hour Christmas Eve marathon this past year.Very warm, funny film.

I've started to watch It's A Wonderful Life around Christmas-time each year. Home Alone I tend to watch around Thanksgiving (since it used to always be on ABC Family/Fox Family, but then it disappeared for a year or two, and was back on this year).

Dumb & Dumber I probably watch once a year, but never at a specific time. Same for Pee-wee's Big Adventure.

Christmas movies @ Christmas time.

other than that, if a sequel is coming out, i'll watch the original the week of it's theatrical release.

and depending on the series, i may even consider reading the book then watching the movie, reading the sequel, then going to see the sequel. i've tended to do this w/the Harry Potter movies.

Christmas movies:

A Christmas Carol (1951) - Absolutely must watch. Watched it since I bought the VHS back in 89. Got the DVD back in 2000.
A Christmas Story - Every year since I got the DVD. Now that I own the Blu Ray, I leave it on in the bedroom all day long.

Halloween:

Halloween 3 - Started when I bought the VHS for $3, continues to this day with the DVD. Where's the BD love for that movie?
The Changeling - Every year since I finally bought my first VCR in 1988. I wish they'd update the DVD or release it on Blu.

The Original Charlie Brown Holiday Specials are a must for me on every holiday. A Christmas Story is mandatory during Christmas, also Halloween and the original Dawn of the Dead are viewed every year on Halloween.

I never really made it a point to watch a certain movie on a certain day until three years ago. I had a few grandkids in my lap and we watched The Polar Express at Christmas. This past Christmas was the third in a row and we have a ball together. I would not trade the time spent for anything.
