Does anyone have any info on this release?

I know the website has some "dubious" releases on it. Is this real, or just a bad boot?

Fake as far as I can tell. I'd love to have those movies on BD, but sad truth is nothing has been announced in Japan.

Unless this is some obscure US release nobody's heard about, I'd say 99.9% chance it's fake and just a transfer of the three DVD's to one BD.

Screams "DODGY!!!", doesn't it? That fact that it's only $30.00. What a bargain... Oh no wait, it's bootlegged shite. Watch how many people on these forums actually buy it, like that moron that bought a QUITE CLEARLY bootleg copy of The Kingdom.

Exactly.

Moreover, these bootleggers (I hate bootleggers

) couldn't possibly have used a HD source, as these movies haven't been released on BD, HDDVD yet, nor have they been aired on HD cable TV in Japan or been made available for download in HD.

So the best possible source they could have used, are the DVD's at 480p. Wow, talk about quality BD's

I noticed these are up for sale at respectable sites now.

Yesasia.com has it for $103 for the two first movies, which are apparently released in Japan.

Ya, the first one's definitely fake. I've seen it in person. It's basically all three DVD films put onto one Bluray disc. Not HD in the very least. I'd be interested in the official releases as well though. They were a lot better than I thought they'd be. And I've never read the mangas or anything.

Thanks everyone! I figured it had to be a poor quality bootleg for the price I was finding and that was why I could not find any information on it. Almost bought it, Blu-ray.com to rescue once again!

I've only seen the first one and I really didn't like it. Haven't seen the other 2. Love the Anime. Thinking about reading the Manga to see if I missed anything. I know the endings were different between the Anime and Mangas. Can somebody tell me how it ended in the movie. Might want to use spoilers

I got the first 2 movies, I like them both, not gotten around to getting the last one yet. I like the anime and I got the mangas so I guess I am a big Death Note junkie

If they release the movies in BD I would do upgrades on them for sure. I was actualy pull in the movies a lot more then I ever tought I would.
