Default How do you play in Summer?

I have not played a single minute of games since the weekend before Memorial Day. I'm almost halfway through Dead Space, and I have Bioshock (1) on the shelf, with Bioshock 2 and Uncharted: Among Thieves preordered, and I see a few good ones out there I would like to play (InFamous for example). This time of year, the days are long, the lawn grows, the weeds grown in the vegetable garden that needs to be watered, I'm putting a second kitchen in the basement, I have cigars that need to be smoked, beers that need to be brewed. I can't find time to turn on the PS3.

Today would have been perfect. It was cloudy, rainy, 60F, plain miserable for nearly July. I ran wire through the basement ceiling and built pantry shelving under the basement steps before stopping to give the parrots dinner and evening playtime.

The fact that Al made it to the Senate today doesn't make you in MN want to blow stuff up (in games, of course) ?

I hear you friend, but if you really need to build panty shelving in the basement it sounds like you have bigger fish to fry!

What is going on in the basement?! Does it involve putting the dog in the basket?

I've been trying to get in an hour to 3 hours everynight. I wait until after I get my daughter to bed for the night and then go play some games. I've been working on COD: World At War, great game. After I finish that I'm moving on to replaying both Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic games.

Full time job, new house with lots of projects, training for a triathlon, and I still was able to get an hour of gaming in tonight.

Fixed that!

If it were my decision, there would be no panties in this house!!

I love Summer, but when the snow flies this autumn, I can sleep in on Saturdays, drink coffee till noon, run on my treadmill, play the PS3 and drink Martinis 'till the parrots want dinner, then finish the evening with a fine movie on Blu-ray. By then, all of the tomatoes, cabbages, cucumbers, zucchinis, peas, beans, onions, garlic, corn, lettuce, radishes, carrots, beets, herbs will have been eaten, pickled (fermented), or canned, and the lawn will be dead, the days will be short. I will be back to two movies per weekend night, too. When it's not yet dark at 9 pm, it's hard to get in the mood to watch movies at 7:30.

Exactly! Fall/Winter really are the core Blu seasons. It's just so much easier to convince yourself that you aren't missing anything outside or slacking off on chores when it gets dark at 4:30pm, am I right?

Well, since it's summer vacation for me, I can play PS3 all day long, but I regulate my time by spending about 2-3 hours per day before I exercise.

I play sporadically. Yesterday was the first time in about a week that I played. Yet, I usually play a lot since there's nothing to do where I am at, and since I was laid off. I do get outside a lot though. For the past few days, it has been very windy and cloudy, which is why I played games yesterday.

i've started playing games again since the beginning of june.

mostly i play after the kids go to bed (9 or so) and play till 10 or 10:30.

i'm contemplating if i want to play my psp 2 work, my lunch falls the same time as some soap loving old ladies so i never get to watch tv...

See, I'm with the OP - even after getting the kid to bed there's all the other stuff that needs to be done before the wife and I crash - train/play with the dogs, straighten up, laundry, dishes, etc... (Oh yeah, and pay some attention to the wife )

I can relate - right now I'm trying to finish getting a fence up inthe backyard, get the lawn on the house I bought last year presentable, work on the house - on top of all the regular stuff.

I cant even cycle through my netflix movies with any regularity right now let alone seriously game on the PS3. I occasionally get an hour or two here or there, and sometimes toss in Rockband, Buzz, or goof around with a PSN game but that's it right now. (Of course I have a 3 year old and three high-strung dogs, so I'm hoping it will get better as they all get older...)

I will say my PSP is my one saving grace. On the go or right before bed I usually have some time to unwind with a PSP game - so that's been getting much more use than either of my PS3s - which still isn't saying much....

Only one solution - time travel (nope, cloning has too many drawbacks)

Ok, I'm curious Jon - what kind of parrots?

I'd love to get one myself, but I have a sinking feeling one of my dogs (most likely the Border Collie) would either kill it or give it a heart attack.

Well my wife works nights so on nights she's at work I got nothing else to do after getting the kid to bed. I usually find myself playing and then next thing I know I dosed off while playing . When the wife is here at night we usually watch a movie or tv together. I went through a patch recently were I didn't play games hardly at all for about a year. I just starting playing alot more and bought a bunch of games.

My wife and I live in a condo. So that means we don't have to worry about any of that yard work crap (which we have no interest in). So, it leaves plenty of time for gaming and what-not.

Gosh, imagine all those F@H work units you could be going through while you are not playing on the PS3. My head spins at the thought...
