Here's the deal: I like to watch movies with the aspect ratio preserved so that I can see the whole picture (I don't mind black bars at the top and bottom of the screen), but my wife likes to zoom in so that the whole screen is filled even though she loses some of the original picture.
I have a Sony STR-DG820 receiver, a 42" Panasonic plasma display, and the Panasonic DMP-BD60 Blu-ray player. When the Blu-ray player is connected directly to the display via HDMI, I can zoom and get rid of the black bars. However, when the Blu-ray player is connected to the receiver (via HDMI), I can no longer zoom to get rid of the black bars. Anyone else experience this? Thanks in advance, I'm new to this stuff! |
