Pioneer VSX-919AH-K - Blu-ray Forum

Buddy of mine is looking at this receiver.He works with a guy hwo has it for sale for a nice price,but he doesn't know if it will work with his setup.I told him it would,but want another opinion. He has a Sat HDDVR,Bluray player and an xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii that use component hookups. I told him to hook up the hddvr and bluray via hdmi and use the components for the xbox and wii.I believe it upconverts,so he would only need one hdmi cable to the tv.Am I right or am I missing something? His price stops at 350.00,so that's why this receiver looks like a good deal to him.The guy is selling it for 300.00. If you have a btter suggestion in this price range let me know and I'll relay the message back to him.Thanks

This is a great receiver, I thinking of getting it. It converts analog signals (i.e. component in your case) to digital and passes them through the hdmi output, and lets the upscaling to the TV. If that’s what you mean then you are correct.
