Pioneer VSX-919AH, problem with audio and DVR - TV/SAT - Blu-ray Forum

Hi, my Dad has this receiver and the DVD players sound (surround sound through the audio optical cable) will only play for like 15 seconds and it switches over from DVR back to TV/SAT. There are only 2 places to put optical/coaxial cables in on this receiver and TV/SAT and DVR are those. We don't know how to fix this and have just used the tv's speakers for this dvd player/recorder. Any ideas on how to keep the receiver to stay on DVR and quit switching back to TV/SAT? Is there a better place to ask this question?

That sounds like a physical problem in the receiver. I suggest contacting Pioneer customer support.

I have the same receiver

Did you try going to the MCAAC setup to select which input/out you wanna use?

And only somewhat related...

How does one configure these so that when turning it on the volume is not all the way down? Is there a setting somewhere so when you turn it on you don't have to turn up the sound?

There is a setting on the set up gui that lets you select this, I have mine set at the same volume as i left it.
