Default Well "[Rec]" is almost here in the USA BUT...

I'd rather see the blu-ray of it - I mean of course I'll get the reg DVD on Tuesday but does anybody think they'll release it on Blu soon?

As one who has seen the Nordic blue-ray edition of REC and the DVD - I would recommend that you wait for the blue-ray. There are many dark scenes where the DVD does not show anything and the blue-ray is great. And the movie is such a treat that you should be patient and get it right the first time you see it!

I recommend the Spanish Blu-ray, if you can handle 1080i50. It is the only [REC] Blu-ray release that is both region free and has English subtitles. Also, it only has DTS (7xx kbps) audio, but it is a nice track, still.

Ironically I just picked up the 2-disc DVD today. Saw the movie for the first time on TV last weekend and loved it.

DTS 5.1
English subtitles
Making Of
Crew Interviews
Extended scenes
Deleted scenes
Behind the scenes
UK trailer
UK TV spots
Casting and key art.

I'd pick it up on BR. It genuinely scared me, which most films can't manage.

It is a travesty that Sony delayed the domestic release of the film for so long and then didn't even release a Blu-ray edition of it. Hopefully it will be released somewhere in the world region free with english subs and video that isn't 1080i50. One can hope.

Sony probably doesn't want [REC] to compete with and take away Blu-ray sales from Quarantine. If the DVD sells strongly, there is hope for an eventual BD release in the future.

Quarantine is better. Jennifer Carpenter was ****ing awesome!
But [REC.] is slightly more realistic.

Jennifer Carpenter looks like a living bobble-head... her head has it's own weather system!!! Or maybe the proportion is off... I mean she does have the body of a 10 year old boy.

She's too skinny for my taste.

Quarantine is better and I'm not kidding. It has better pacing and the supporting cast are better actors and characters. The girl in [REC] is more attractive though.

I would agree with the guy you quoted.

That's what I meant by different feel. Quarintine felt like They were acting. While in REC felt like they were reacting.

Both are still good. But REC has that slight edge.
