help with KDL-40XBR4 - Blu-ray Forum

it powers on for 2 seconds then off

standby flashes 13 times.

looked online and its refereeing to a "malfunction of balancer"

can someone explain to me whats that, is it fixable, or not?

I believe (emphasis on believe) that is a backlight problem. Can be fixed, call Sony and they will get you in contact with a local repair company.

so i got a call today from empire tv repair shop.

some board die, they want $489 to fix it

this tv did not cost me a peni, is it worth paying $500 for this tv.

please advice me, since price for a new one is in the <1000

but sure i cant buy a 40" with $500

please advice

Its worth the repair IMO, otherwise the KDL40XBR9 is $1469 on amazon.
