Updated reviews?

Hi,

I've noticed a few older titles getting new reviews on the site - most recently Con Air. Is this a trend? Is there a new reviewer that's going back and revising reviews for a specific reason? I'm only asking because some of us make purchases based on the site's recommendations (PQ and AQ), and it would be good to see older reviews archived for comparison.

i dont think his question pertains to my thread....i dont believe the catalog titles getting reviewed were already reviewed by greg (but correct me if im wrong).

there are some catalog titles that have yet to be reviewed yet on this site, and i think the reviewers are now getting copies of the movies and are able to review them. for example, i saw ken is going to be reviewing dirty harry soon.

Yep. There were only three titles that received a second review, and those have already been posted. Any other previously released title you see pop up with a review is from our somewhat lengthy backlog list. Ultimately, we'd love to cover every Blu-ray release on the market (at least the major ones). In the case of 'Con Air' -- and a variety of older titles you'll see reviewed from time to time -- it was lost in the shuffle and just now given a proper write-up.

Rest assured though, we only review backlog titles when we don't have new screeners or new releases on our plate. We'd never review a title like 'Con Air' (which released some time ago) if we were sitting on 'Watchmen,' 'Battlestar Galactica,' or even a minor title that's scheduled for release. We always prioritize new discs first, and then hit stuff we've missed in the past.

That answered my question, thanks!! I guess I though Con Air had been reviewed, but I saw another one too and this explained why!

I don't know if it's related, but I noticed recently that Sleepy Hollow popped up in the new reviews section. At first I thought it was a re-release, but it wasn't. I thought it had been reviewed by this site already, but maybe I was mistaken....

Nope, none of the backlog titles that have been popping up recently have been reviewed before (unless a foreign version of the title was already reviewed, that's always a possibility). We're just using the free time we have to hit some older titles that were missed the first time around. Thanks as always for posting!
