Default Need help connecting an LG LHB953 to the internet

Alright so i have recently bought an LG LHB953 Blu-ray Home Theatre and forgot that there was no telephone line in my lounge and now i can not connect and stream Netflix movies so i was wondering if there is any can of adapter i kind buy from Wal-Mart or Best buy to wirelessley build a bridge between my Blu-ray player and my router?

My router is in another room and i do not think they make Ethernet chords 100 feet long.

Please help a fellow blu ray player out, I can only stream movies on my Xbox360 and its amazing.

They do make ethernet cables as long as you want but if you want wireless i suggest getting a wireless n router and perhaps a usb dongle for the blu ray player.

What kind of router do you suggest? I need one thats fast so it can stream movies without the lag, I was wondering if i can use the wireless adapter on my 360 on the blu ray player?

The Manual states that i can wirelessly connect the Blu-ray player with a Powerline Ethernet adapter, I might just get a 50foot Ethernet cable for right now. I could just tape it to the floor and put a floor mat over the visible areas.

not sure if the 360 adapter would work but definately go with a "N" router check amazon and newegg they have pretty good deals on wireles routers also check to see if the have "N" dongles plus how far away is the modem from the player take that into consideration. I tried to research this to see if it could be a wifi enabled player but everthing i searched came up empty so look at the wireless routers and good luck

I have the D-Link DIR-825 (Dual-band) Wireless-N router and it works just fine for me.

Or if you don't care about simultaneous 2.5/5.0 GHz bands than you could go with the DIR-655.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...15&Tpk=dir-655

Next, you'll need to a wireless bridge or adapter. For me, I use the D-Link DAP-1522 since I have multiple devices that need to be connected to the internet.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...6&Tpk=dap-1522

This is cheaper than buying individual adapters for each device, however if you only have one device in your home theater equipment that needs to connect to the internet than I'd recommend going with just a single adapter.

EDIT: You mentioned you can stream movies on your XBox 360, is it connected via wifi? What router do you currently have?

If you are serious about streaming Video to your Home Theater, Wired is the only way to go. If you can't run Ethernet yourself hire someone to run a connection to the back of your Entertainment Center. You are going to have nothing but headaches trying to make Wireless work consistently. Trust me nothing else will work right, put in the time and money and do it right!

I've set up 4 of the DAP-1522's (bridge mode) for myself and friends/family. All are paired with D-Link routers (DGL-4500 and DIR-655) which support WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup). WPS basically makes it really simple to connect the DAP-1522 and the supported router wirelessly - push the WPS button on the router until it starts blinking and within 120 seconds, push the WPS button on the DAP-1522 until it blinks. Usually, in somewhere less than 30 seconds, you are connected wirelessly based on the security you have setup in your router.

The router is about 50 ft. away in an upstairs room. In my setup, I have two standalone blu-ray players (Samsung BD-P3600, LG BD390), a PS3 and a Denon receiver (3808CI) connected to the DAP-1522 using either Cat6 or Cat5e cables. Streaming Netflix (including Netflix HD), Pandora and YouTube from the standalone players with no issues. Stream internet radio and music from one of the home pc's through the Denon receiver too. Even though both standalone players and the PS3 are wireless, I found that I was getting better signal strength with the DAP-1522.

The only issue I had with the DAP-1522 is the less than useful instructions for updating the firmware including accessing the configuration page for non-WPS setup. It took a somewhat lengthy and painful call to D-Link support to get the simple answer - set the switch on the back of the DAP-1522 to AP mode and connect to an open router port. Then open up a web browser and type in the ip address 192.168.0.50 to get to the 1522's configuration page. Make sure to set the switch back to Bridge or Auto mode after finishing with the configuration page.
