Sci Fi movies

So yeah i am a bit picky with my sci fi movies. I love the Abyss but hated the Sphere. Any recommendations on good sci fi movies?

Excellent suggestions. I also read recently that they're finally getting ready to release the Alien box set, but I'm not sure of the date.

almost everything on this list I have seen and own. Knowing was good until the end. It seemed like 2 different movies pieced together cause they couldnt come up with an ending to one or a beginning to the other. Wasn't too fond of Planet of the Apes. Love Star Trek, Star Gate, Sunshine (one of my favorites), Blade Runner. It's hard to find a good space movie that isn't overly cheesy. Total Recall is fun cause it aged horribly but it's only going to get worse when the remake comes out.

I would also suggest Moon by Duncan Jones and starring Sam Rockwell, it's still in theaters but it's amazing...it's like a bit like 2001 a space Odyssey (which I also recommend) and I second the suggestions of Matrix, Star Wars, Star Trek, and Ghostbusters
