I'm tired of these threads. Can't you people make up your own minds? It's not like these are critical life decisions. Just buy movies you like.

I'd definitely reccomend "Casino Royale."

If you haven't seen "The Watchmen" movie or comic, then you might want to rent it first to see if you can stand it; I've known one or two people who really hate it due to its length and graphicness.

Otherwise, I'd probably reccomend "Black Hawk Down" third.

But of course, these are just my opinions. It's more important to get what you really want.

Excellent contribution!

OP: Of those, I'd recommend Casino Royale CE and The Departed.

Watchmen is excellent, but I can't see myself ever wanting to watch it again. Except for the Laurie sex scene. Yeah, I'm desperate.

Black Hawk Down is good, too, but man it brings me down. I can stand watching it about once every few years.

On the other hand, Casino Royale was one of my first BDs and I've watched it 2-3 times since March. I don't own The Departed, but that's only because I haven't seen a great deal yet. Once I do, I'll get it. I watch it anytime it's on TV.

Watchmen Director's Cut. Definitely ignore Casino Royale, and the Departed seems decent, not good.

Wow, what's with all the "Casino Royale" hate?

Well, if everybody really hates it that much, then I guess I can't reccomend it anymore.

Get "Black Hawk Down." You can't go wrong with that one.

Seriously? You won't recommend it because people in here don't like it? LOL

while we have this thread going, let's put it to good use :

to the people who didn't like The Departed, was it due to:

a) the fact that you were a fan of Infernal Affairs

b) just didn't enjoy the movie overall, had nothing to do with it being a remake

It's just too confusing to understand Casino Royale. Plus, Daniel Craig seems to be too cold blooded to be Bond; he just doesn't have the taste.

I didn't find it confusing in the least.

Maybe I'm all alone, but I like Craig's bond the best. Makes Brosnan look like a tame nerd with futuristic gadgets.

I liked it the first time, but with repeated viewings, it just doesn't hold up. There's some pretty big holes in the plot and character development and it's just not nearly as good as Scorsese's other mob movies. I mean how many times is he gonna use Gimme Shelter in a mob movie before i think he's reaching?
