Default Returning movies to HMV

I'm attempting to return
20.Speed 7.2/10
21.Predator 7.8/10
22.Master & Commander 7.5/10
23.BROKEN ARROW 5.8/10

they were bought when i traded in 4 dvd movies which i had to add in $42 cdn. i recently did comparison between the prices futureshop, bestbuy, amazon and found that hmv prices are really high and you might as well buy it from futureshop titles you want, for example speed is $12.99 at this local video shop. predator is $14.99, and broken arrow cheapest i've seen is $12 used. i wonder if they will return my $42 and give me a certificate for my 4 dvds i traded in $28? which i will then head to blockbuster and get 2 new release previously used for $30, and spend then $28 certificate on Signs blu-ray at hmv which is about $7 higher than futureshop. this is really a stupid deal, you buy old movies and trade in your dvds and cost you money.

I don't think you will get a full refund. If I remember the ad, they will refund you the amount you have spend.... so i you bought a movie which was , let's say 20$ before the trade-in, you will only be refund 13$ (20-7 trade). But you may check with your store since I'm not 100% sure. And BTW, i dont know if I understand well, but you wont be able to have a 28$ rebate for a unique blu-ray movie...

I agree that not all of the Blu's were good deals but there were some good deals in there.

I got Master and Commander for 7.99 after trade in... and that is for a brand new disc not used.

I was going to pick up the Xmen series there but using the futureshop 3 for 50.00 deal they became 16.66 each at futureshop so it was a better deal there.

you guys are both right... hmv wont refund you the credit for the traded in movies, just the cash you spent. and i have always said their priced are too high.... having said that thou there were some good deals i have to admit to. ex) transporter 1 and 2 for 7 bucks (both) and i also got 28 days later for 10.99 (cheaper than anywhere else) so yes, not all deals are good, but some were. honestly if its just a couple of bucks, i'd just eat it cuz youd spend the same in gas money these days driving around to return and re-buy everything. but if its a big deal for you then i guess whatever make syou happy. (keep in mind, hmv only have 7 or 14 days return) not 30 like most places.

... whats funny is all of these blus were $9.99 new on the futureshop sale a few weeks ago. (not sure if you wanna hear that thou. lol)

yes i remember seeing speed and predator for $9.99 at futureshop, so was transporter 1 and 2 which i regret not getting. speed at hmv is $17.99-7 is $10.99 which isn't bad. i might keep predator and speed both were 2 for $30-14 so $16 for both is actually cheaper. i will exchange broken arrow for terminator 2 skynet edition and might keep master and commander because it was so cheap now that i think about it.

I returned Broken Arrow $19.99-$7 trade in=$12.99 for $21.99-$7=$14.99 Terminator 2 Skynet edition without a problem even though it wasn't part of the listed movies. Cool, I"m gonna keep speed and predator 2 for $30-$14=$16 for both and master and commander $14.99-7=$7.99.

good to see you didnt have any problems. althou i'm sure the the experience will vary at every diff hmv (depending on what the associates allow you to do and not do)

Although they aren't supposed to, the one movie I returned, I got a full refund on - ya - the girl gave me my $7 trade in back as cash.

I was happy of course
