Default Returning TX-SR806

Hey everyone, I bought the TX-SR806 on December 16th and still have till January 31st to return it. I was wondering if any of you could make some suggestions for a comparable receiver in terms of sound and picture quality. The reason I am returning the TX-SR806 is because of the blue pixels. I found a workaround but I don't want to spend $600+ and not be able to use all of the features, in this case 1080p upscaling.

I'm looking to spend anywhere between $620 (what I paid for the TX-SR806) to $1000 at the max. But the less the better since I'm a broke ass college kid. Thanks.

And how is the Harman Kardon AVR-354?

Have you tested upscaling on the Onkyo vs. your XBR4? People always seem to discount the fact that the TV has an upscaler in it too, and in some cases can be really nice. If it's equivalent or better, then why even sweat it?

Alternatively while I'm not familiar with the blue pixel issue, if its a big deal to you, then just exchange it.

Yes I have tested. It's a big difference with SD content as the XBR4 is well known for having a horrible upscaler with SD content. Also, it's not the only issue. With a 1080i signal, even with no upscaling, the picture stutters from time to time. I've already packaged it up and UPS will be picking it up within the next 3 days.

I see there there is the Denon AVR-2309CI and the AVR-2809CI. What are the huge two differences between the two? And is the price difference worth it? I've already looked at the website and compared the two but I need normal people information.

For those who care I ended up biting on the Denon AVR-2309CI for $561.75 from 6th Ave. I was going to go with the AVR-2809CI but I decided that it wasn't worth the $338 difference at $900

I ended up cancelling the AVR-2309CI order @ $561.75. I called 6th Ave to see if I could price match Amazon.com's price on the 2809CI @ 999 then use the 25% coupon and they said no. Afterwards, I asked them if they could give me the 2809CI for any less than $900 (after coupon) and they were able to give it to me for $850 shipped. I just wanted the extra features such as the Burr Brown DAC's and such.
