Default Any opinions on the Onkyo TX-SR806

I would love to get some feedback on this receiver. I plan on buying this with some Klipsch Synergy series speakers. Does this sound like a good setup. Thanks

After looking at the 806 and its premium price, especially considering the features lost since the 805, I bought a new 805 from BH Photo Video for $579 and change with free shipping. Should arrive later this week. No regrets.

I'm apparently not the only one who thinks that buying an 805 is the better play. Amazon has jacked up the price on their remaining stock to over $800.

I was told by a salesguy that the difference between the 805 and the 806 was not too noticeable. He also said that the prices would drop on the 805's as soon as the 806's came out, therefore making it possible to come up on pretty good deals.

I personally am waiting to get a good deal on an 805. I've heard nothing but good things about this receiver.

Hey Driver King, are those receivers on E-cost refurbished? Or are they brand new? I'm really close to ordering one from them, that's the best price so far...$529.00 for the black one!

Seeing as how I was gonna spend $1000 on the 806 would you guys reccomend the Pioneer Elite VSX-94TXH instead. I found it online for $1024, and would be willing to spend the money on it if it is worth it. How does it compare to the 806/805?

They are refurbished but they have the same one-year Onkyo warantee as a new one.

The standard warranty for new receivers is two years.

E-cost is the biggest joke of an online retailer I have ever dealt with in my life. Don't do buisness with them!!!! I agree though that you should go for the 805, incredible machine. Makes me sad to see them go for $529 now, I paid $875 for mine last October It is still easily worth $875 though, no regrets

After a couple of months of comparing the comparable Elite, Onkyo, Yamaha and Denon AVRs I decided on the VSX-94TXH. I have had it for a few weeks now and have not regretted the decision in the least. I think once you get up into the "flagship" category of these manufacturers it comes down to features that matter to you and all the touchy-feely stuff that should still make you happy years later. They are all excellent products and I don't think a "wrong" decision could be made.

When did you do business with them, what was your issue, and what did you get?
