what is the price difference. i was looking at the G10 before I eventually ended up with the pro111fd. i really liked the the picture on the G10 and best buy had it for as low as 1299.99 when I was looking. i've never really seen the other set though.

I bought the S1 50" model from Best Buy when they wer on sale, got it for $1,499. wanted the G10 50" but at the time could'nt justify the $300.00 difference it was $1,799.00 . But I kept an eye out for the price for the 30 days and yes it droped, I got money back on the S1. But I still kept an eye on it , and Bamm the G10 50" droped in price too , so I took the S1 back and exchanged it for the G10 , it actually went lower than the S1, still kept an eye on it and the priced droped agian, so the bottom line , I ended up getting the G10 50" for $1239.00... Plus I got triple rewards points too $60.00 back in gift cards , so it pays to keep an eye on price'es, Oh and the other thing is it's an awesome TV, I love it , to watch Blu rays is unbeliveable, you will enjoy it , Hope this helps...

Smart move man, also think down the road too, you actually have a more expenssive TV , with THX , so if you ever decide to upgrade or sell it , you should get more out of it too. I really think you'll be very happy

Here is the link, and yeah, for the 50" G10, that is a screaming deal. Best one out there right now. I'd jump all over that.

Man, I'm really considering that 50" g10 from B&H thanks to this thread. $1374 shipped! That's only a little more than I paid for my 42" Philips LCD two years ago.

Remember, Best Buy is rated an "F" by the Better Business Bureau.

I'd choose BH Photo over them any day of the week for $100 more.

I'd say wait and get the V10 since the G10 has issues with 24 frame rate.

And that's only if you use that refresh rate. We've been dealing with 3:2 pulldown forever and I'm not sure I would be able to tell the difference. Even so, looks like the 50" V10 is going for around $1933 and the G10 is about $1300. Both seem like steals if you've been shopping for LCD's lately.

I think that one of these two sets will definitely be mine here in the coming months.

+1

Which is why I'm happy Panasonic left the 48Hz as a selectable option in the V10. For certain movies, I prefer it. It actually makes things look...deeper...for lack of a better word.

ahh since we're on the subject....is there really a noticeable difference between 96hz and 60hz? And are the blacks on the V10 THAT much deeper than the G10?

A little. Enough that I use it.

I don't know. I've never seen them side-by-side...for that matter, I've never seen a G10 in action.
