Ok, so I'm looking to spend somewhere around 1800 for a new panny and am struggling between these two tv's. From what I understand, the main differences between the two sets is 24p playback and THX certification and I'm trying to get some opinions on how much these features really matter, because I'd like to have a 50", but if the G10 series is so much better of a tv that I've just gotta have it, I'll have to drop a couple inches for it to fall into my price range.
So, both panels have the 600hz sub-field drive which is supposed to provide better motion clarity right? So forgive me if I am being naiive or ignorant, but what does 24p playback do that's so much better than that? And does every blu-ray (or at least a good amount) support this? Is there going to be a noticeable difference in motion clarity between the S1 and G10? And THX certification...I know it sounds glorious, like God himself reached down and touched this tv and now its perfect....but really?? Do i need it? Any input is appreciated, thanks all. |

-24p (flicker or not, I want to play!) ![]() -Viera Cast (I like this idea, could see this being updated with firmware/IPTV) -THX (even though I may not use their setting) I'm looking 42-46" range so I think its easier for me to make the S1 -> G10 jump than it would be for someone looking at 50".
