Default spudd4242 bedroom college student budget setup

Hey all, The name is neil and i'm a college student, i'm 19. This is my rather weak setup hopefully i will be able to pick up some audio components soon enough. Hopefully you all enjoy, and the wires sticking out have since been tidied up. Also the view is from either my bed in the corner of the room or the two beanbag chairs that sit infront of the t.v.

Heck of a lot better than what I had when I was 19.....

Just do yourself a favor, and when you start building the audio..... do it SLOWLY and buy quality once.... rather than junk repeatedly.

+1 on quality first. I was 22 when I started with all of this stuff last year. At first I thought I'd be fine with the TV, then I got interested in making it sound a bit better. So I though I'd just get something cheap that sounded good for the price and ended up with a decent 2.1 setup. Of course that didn't last long and now my extra receiver, speakers and sub don't get any use.

Don't rush out and buy a cheap setup, start with some nice Towers and go from there. Looks great so far man!

also, don't limit yourself to satellite speakers or small sub etc. because "The room isn't that big" etc.... You'll move a LOT in the next 5-6 years probably.

Your advice has been heard, a futon was bought from ikea today, works perfectly, more room and much more comfy than some beanbag chairs, more pictures will be added tomm.

I would actually recommend doing that. Thats what I did infact. But only go with Onkyo if your going to do HTIB route. The receivers that they include are typically pretty damn good, and when the time comes to upgrade, you can easiliy upgrade the speakers and use the receiver.

I would probably recommend ether the 6200 since it comes with a receiver very similar to the 606 stand alone receiver, and it does HD audio as well.

+1. I got the onkyo htib without the receiver and bought the onkyo 605 for 1st bedroom setup. It sounded pretty good for what I paid. Get the onkyo htib without the receiver so u can pick your own IMO.
