Default Blu-ray Releases That Already Deserve a Re-Release

So this tread topic originated from my wanting of a better release of "The Last Waltz". One of the greatest concert films but was apart of the first Blu-ray releases, transferred onto a 25gb disc with mpeg-2 and limited audio options.

The Phantom of the Opera could use a re-release as the audio is just average and should have been much better IMO.

I think Rocky should get a re-release because the PQ wasn't that stellar

Why re-release films when studios should do a proper job in the first place. But Rocky and Predator could use it from my collection.

Yeah, I think everyone would agree with that but unfortunately that doesn't happen. Speaking of "Predator", I think all of Fox's "Arnold" releases deserve re-releases seeing they're all low grade 25gb disc mpeg-2 transfers.

Any blu-ray release that doesn't have top-notch picture and audio quality should be re-released. There I said it.

Blu-ray movies that already deserve a re-release? About 60% of every title.

Because with a lot of the earlier releases the studios were limited in what they could do technically. The Blu-ray format was rushed into the market just so HD DVD wouldn't get a big head start on them in the format war. But these days there really is no excuse they have everything available to them to make a quality release.

And they are already planning to release a Rocky Collection but who knows if it will receive a new transfer or if they will be lazy and just throw the current one in the set.

Terminator and Terminator 3 comes to mind. Also, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid for PQ.

Mission Impossible Collection
Lethal Weapon 1 And 2 with directors cuts and possibly in a boxset with the other 2.
American Psycho looks better than some would say but could still could look a lot better given how good the Australian release is
Seven the Alliance release in Canada restored to it's proper aspect ratio
The Fly still could look a lot better than it does right now
Die Hard 1 and 2 both need full remastering
Enter The Dragon definitely needs some work
One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest barley looks better than the DVD at times

Any of the first blu-ray releases that had mpeg2 and/or compressed audio (dolby digital, dts) rather than lossless. So pretty much any of the initial Fox, Paramount and Warner. Oh and Robocop is in desperate need of a good transfer.

Of the ones I own, I'm only really disastisfied with Patton.

I wouldn't mind a better transfer of Mission Impossible, but I'm pretty certain that'd require a restoration and new master, which is very unlikely.

Speed Racer could use better audio. Although I already own it and am content with the current release.
