Default Oppo and torchwood problem

I just started The Children and it is a little "jerky"........ like it is being replayed at a slightly faster speed than recordes. Still scene's are almost stunning.......great color and all, but if anyone/anything is moving, it is off. Even the lips look like a dubbed movie.

Played on a Sony with 120 refresh rate and an Oppo player.

Just played it on my "old" pano and pano plasma with no problem??

Any thoughts............Jack

You say your Sony is a 120Hz display, do you have frame creation (or what ever Sony calls it) turned on?

It's the option in the menu that makes the picture look super smooth.

If so, then try turning it off.

Torchwood is a 1080i transfer and my guess would be it's not playing nice with the 120hz.

Also this is a BBC title. Your display should be an NTSC display, if this is a PAL encoded transfer that too could be whats making the picture look jerky.

Tried it both ways...........no change......talked to Oppo and after running me through a few setting changes, they are going to "look into it"

Thanks for the reply!!

The video would be 1080 50i transcoded into 1080 60i. Like BBCs Galápagos, etc

It's 1080i @ 50hz, but I know what you mean.
