With the number of far superior Region A and C releases I've been considering getting a multi region Blu Ray player for both Blu Ray and DVD's (old multi region player broke). I'm looking for something relatively cheap under a hundred euro.

Technika BRSS10's region can be changed via remote.

Online, there are still a few in the wild at about £45. My local Tesco has a couple (or at least did last week).

It seems to me that it's harder to get a multiregion player on a budget than it was with a DVD player, even though studios are putting out region free discs. With the firmware upgrades it makes things more complicated. Are there any other players in the sub £50 price point? |

Bought this player from eBay, £89.99 + £9.99 postage so £99.98 altogether. I had originally ordered a US player but that order fell through, so I'm glad I found this player on eBay. The seller has 1 left if anyone is interested. Just search Technika Blu-ray Player and it comes up.

I got the technika off ebay not long ago, actually been discussing it in a difrent thread, I got it for £45 best offer with delivery for £5. It's a great player for the price, and can change region at will.
Your other option is the Philips BDP 2500 or the slightly more expensive 3000. But they can only be set to region A. Heres a post from the other thread. Quote:

I have a Philips BDP3000 also. Had it for ages before finding out it could be changed to play Region A. It's a great player and can be bought now for as little as £50 delivered for refurbished, but I've never had a problem with refurb Philips products. If you want it new then it'll cost a little more.
I'd highly recommend it. Before I realised the BDP3000 could be hacked, i bought another player for the soul purpose of playing Region A. It was a Foehn & Hirsch. It played them fine, but had a noisy fan and the picture wasn't as good as I'd hoped. I still use it for playing MKV files. |

It looks like the Seiki U-Vision Blu-ray player is available in the UK. It's £99.99, which isn't bad, but the US machine,, which may be identical has been as low as $49.99.
Has anyone bought a US or UK machine? Is the US machine just plug and play in the UK (if you can just change the power lead)? ![]() Here's the Seiki thread. |

If you purchase a Panasonic you can use this disc from TPS (£60) to make it region free:
