Online, there are still a few in the wild at about £45. My local Tesco has a couple (or at least did last week).

The Technika BRSS10 sounds decent, will have a look. I don't mind stretching my budget a little if it means getting a better machine.

I found the manual to the Technika here. It does have a digital coaxial audio out (which I was after) but no component. Plus if your local Tesco does have one you can check it out for 28 days and return it if not completely satisfied.

It seems to me that it's harder to get a multiregion player on a budget than it was with a DVD player, even though studios are putting out region free discs. With the firmware upgrades it makes things more complicated.

Are there any other players in the sub £50 price point?

None In my local Teaco, gonna have my parents take a look back home and when they next go up North. Was using my laptop connected to my TV through hdmi to watch Region A and C titles but when my laptop got broken I built a PC and it's too far away from my TV to connect it up.

I'd love to get my hands a BRSS10 - no stock in my local Tesco...

Just gonna have to hope for a bit of luck on the Bay.

I just went the route of buying two separate players for A and B. I've yet to find a disc from region C I'd want so I only need those two.

It's actually kind of funny that the player bought from the US has GUI in my native language but the one bought right here doesn't!
