They're still not carrying locals in my area, and there's no mention of it here as far as I can tell. Sucky.

Don't get me wrong I absolutely love my directv! I've been with them since 1997 and will never use another cable or satellite provider ever again!

I'm probably the only one with an HD tv that doesn't have the HD package lol. I don't watch a lot of tv. I watch a lot of movies though...and all on blu..

I watch the Yankees, Fox News, ABC for Lost and Fox for 24.

I know...it's pretty bad lol. Well..my tv is now "technically old" it's only 60 hertz lol. I figure I'll get HD when I've upgraded to a newer tv with 120. It is 1080 though..

You are right...it is blasphemy or very close to it lol. I think I need a new dish...Directv will be @ my house all day getting me going. I think my receiver does have the HD option. It's an R22-100. Has 3 led's...480 which is blue...720 and 1080 are not lit up so there's got to be some type of way lol. But that leads me to believe that the receiver does have the capability.

BBC America kept advertising that BBC Am HD would launch on July 20th. Kept checking for a week to see if they added it. Finally just gave up because I realized that BBC America, Travel Channel, and G4 (which are all available in HD) are owned by Comcast. So a licensing deal would have to be struck between Comcast (who owns their own cable company) and DirecTV to get these in HD. I'm not holding my breath.

On the upside, DirecTV did add one new Southern California HD channel. KOCE HD (Channel 50) showed up recently in my guide. Its a PBS affliate so I don't know if that's a win or a lose.
