1.What other components should I get I was thinking I would need a power conditioner to protect my HT Equipment is there any other items that I need to get besides the items that are above?

2.Can Someone give me information about power conditioners I know close to nothing about them?

3 If I buy a Power Conditioner should I buy a battery back up as well?

4.If my family want's to just watch tv without surround sound, just the TV speakers, would I need an optical cable as well right?

Thanks In Advance For Your Replys

A power conditioner is a good thing to have.

The APC H15 is a nice option, at a great price.

Solarrdadd has an excellent post on electrical importance...shoot him a PM, im sure he can answer your questions on power conditions.

a UPS is not usually needed unless you have items that might need time to shut down properly such as a PC, or even the PS3. Which you do, so maybe consider: Cyberpower CP1500

Well, most TV's do not have an Optical Input so an optical cable won't be the answer. But, most devices you can connect analog red/white cables directly to the TV for use without the receiver. But this option would be limited to how many devices would be used this way vs. how many analog inputs your TV has. Or you can always buy Y-splitters or analog switchers if need be.

As Crackin said, a power conditioner basically is a must for us theatre owners. A UPS is also a must for people with Projectors, as the lamp needs to cool properly with each shutdown, and the fan needs to run to do that.

Battery back up, UPS is really only necessary for Projectors for the fan to cool the bulb in the case of a power failure when the Projector is in operation.

I would look at other subs.... especially if you think you're going to want to upgrade in the future anyways.
