How do I wipe my hard drive? - Blu-ray Forum

Hi guys. I'm selling my 60GB on craigslist and need to wipe the hard drive. I.E delete saved game data, movie data and my psn network sign on info. Any ideas on how to do this? Thanks.

go to the system menu from the xmb and select format

You may also need to 'restore factory settings' to remove your PSN ID stuff from the system. Not 100% on that, but I think some of that stuff is stored internally and not on the HDD.

You probably also need to deactivate it of your PSN account, so it doesnt count as 1 licences on your PSN purchases

Soo Quick Re-iteration in order of operations

Deactivate your PSN Account located in Account Management
Format The Hardrive
And if your login is still there after the format Restore to Factory settings
