Very nice!!

I guess I will have to complete my setup soon if I plan on staying with the current lineup.

Actually I paid $1100 for the RS6s, so a little over $1200 for the pair of RX6s isn't to far off.

I got to listen to a set of these in a store in Milwaukee. Very clean and clear. The bass response wasnt what I expected; however, I was listening to 2-channel music from an ipod through a home theater receiver. Not the ideal setup when you are trying to impress someone with expensive speakers.

I am sure you were listening the the RS series, these are yet to be released. I am surprised about your impressions on the bass response. That is one of their selling points, it is quite impressive. Almost every review you read mentions it as a matter of fact....

Were you listening to it at Flanner's? I listened to the same set when I got my Deftechs. It's the same speakers that Jason has now- the previous model. I found the bass to be fine on them, but like you mentioned they're using an iPod through a Yamaha receiver (there's also a setup with the McIntosh amp, but I'm not sure if they had it hooked up or not). Those Rx's sure are beautiful.

Local dealer talked to his rep for me today, official revealing is at CEDIA in September. They will announce prices and release dates then. Gives me enough time to start saving for those RX8's

As a matter of fact it was at Flanners (and with an Integra AV Receiver). Dont get me wrong, the sound was VERY clean and clear and when the salesman switched between speakers as he went up the line, each model got better than the one before. Imaging and soundstage was great and I enjoyed the demo. I think the weaker bass had more to do with the fact that the music was played through an AVR than a weakness with the speakers themselves. I imagine they sound fantastic through a dedicated 2-channel system. And maybe it's just me but I've never enjoyed stereo music through an AVR even when setup properly... I'm not sure why. It seems to me when I try on mine, even with the dvd player set to stereo and the receiver set to stereo with the subwoofer set to "none", the AVR doesnt send the full signal to the fronts... it seems to not want to send the lower bass (crossover set to <80Hz?) to my fronts which can more than handle that. But... sorry for hijacking the thread... the Monitor Audios were beautiful and would be a definate upgrade to my Home Theater!!!

I really like the looks of the new series. I wish there was a place here in Indy to listen to them (the dealers page lists one, but I've never heard of it before). Does monitor audio still not allow online sales? The RX 8s would be a great start to a second system.

They don't allow online sales. If you call that number, which I believe is just a distributor, they can point you to someone who sells the speakers. I am sure there is someone in the Indy area that deals in them.

Those cherry Monitor Audio speakers remind me of the Home Theater Direct (HTD)'s Level Three speakers. They come in three colors (black, cherry, & maple) and are $799 a pair.

I believe if you switch over the AVR speaker setting to large and bypass the crossover you should get better, fuller sound from your speakers. Whenever I play CDs through my Blu-ray player I go switch the speaker settings to Large and music seems fuller and the bass extension is much better.
