Default U.S. West Coast may match record high temps

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/07/05/hea....ap/index.html

I was curious how many members are being affected by this.

As someone who has seen a family member nearly succumb to heat stroke, I wanted to second the suggestion to all to keep hydrated and cool.

It is certainly warm - though I am not personally in any danger...

I can be an issue if you got no AC etc...

It was very warm yesterday even at 9:30 for the show. I'm hoping it gets hot enough in my apartment to kill all the spiders that broke out a few days ago.

You should be in Oklahoma. We've had rain for the last 44 days, seriously. The damns are running over, streets flooding, it's getting pretty bad.

Glad to hear no one seems to have been adversely affected by this

Where I'm at (Gulf Coast of NW FL), its been raining a little most every day this past week and that has kept temperature down a lot. Now if we can just get through this summer w/o getting hit by another hurricane!

But for those of you stuck in this heat wave, I'd suggest staying indoors and watch some BD titles!! Best Wishes....

Out here in CA the cost of electicity means you can't use the A/C too much. Sadly my reciever is a heat factory...

We've been through worse but it is heating up a bit today. The worst enemy is fire. It's a tinderbox out there right now because there wasn't any rain. Some nutjob always waits for a Santa Ana wind (one blowing east to west) and then starts a fire hoping houses burn.

Wow, that sucks about the electricity being so expensive epsecially for HT enthusiasts. The longest I had to go w/o power was 9 long days in the September heat. This was after a lowly category 1 hurricance managed to do more damage to the power lines and system than some of the stronger ones we have had. We did not have the high temps that you are experiencing (we were in the 90s), but still I thought it was unbearable.

I hope the penalty for pyromaniacs caught in your state is severe and long. Up to recently, parts of FL were having out-of-control wildfires and much of the state was under drought. I don't have any sympathy for arsonists

As always, best of wishes and stay cool!!

...

It has been raining for days now here in Belgium... Just some showers now and then. However, there's an improvement at hand. After a week or two...

Be happy about it.
However... It seems we have a pretty mild climate compared to you guys...
