Chuck Season 3 on Netflix...Why no blu-ray? - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone know why Netflix, at this point, is not showing a blu-ray option for Chuck: The Complete Third Season? It comes out next week. I don't want to watch it on DVD. It barely looks good on blu-ray.

It's a Warner Brothers title, so you have to wait 28 days.

But the DVD is available next week? Is that whole delay thing just for blu-ray?

The 28-day delay doesn't apply to TV releases. The Vampire Diaries is a Warner release that came out today and it is available on both DVD and Blu-ray on Netflix.

Thanks. I thought that was the case. I guess Netflix either anticipates a blu shortage or is just slow on updating the site options.

Funny thing is, attached to one of my movies mailed to me las week was an ad saying Chuck Season 3 would be available on blu-ray on 9/7.

It's possible it will be available on Blu-ray on release date and they just haven't updated the site to reflect it.

Sometimes they don't get new releases.
They still don't have the Magnificent Seven collection on Blu-ray.

Same thing for The Office Season 6, right now it's only listed as DVD.

I called Netflix about this yesterday. The CSR I spoke to sounded just as surprised as I was. She checked with somebody and was apparently told that Netflix "hadn't been able to purchase Chuck Season 3 on blu-ray at the moment". She didn't seem to think such an explanation made much sense. She said she'd send my question up the chain and see that happens. I might try calling back today or tomorrow.

Does anyone know if Blockbuster Online is going to have it on Blu? I'd love to be able to tell Netflix that and put the pressure on a bit.

According to Blockbuster's website, they will be getting this on Blu-ray. Members can currently add it to their queue, so that should mean Blockbuster is getting it. I'm not a member, but it still shows it regardless.

Times are tough. Maybe they should raise our monthly fee for Blu-rays
