You should not use it if the display is warm ! If you are cleaning it when it is warm it will leave streaks . You need to clean it when it is totally cooled off ~ not been on for some time .

I don't use anything but the microfiber cloth my TV came with, but that's just me.

I used Monster Klean that Best Buy recommended when I bought my Panny 50 plasma. That product messed my tv big time. Best Buy claims the results of the tv I have is NORMAL. I even got the warranty.

I'm sure monoprice has something just as functional, a whole lot cheaper, and not nearly as evil as Monster's product.

They do, it costs like $2.5 a bottle i think, and comes with a microfiber cloth. The Monster stuff is just an absolute ripoff...a buddy of mine works at Best Buy and he said according to Monster, it costs them pennies to make that stuff. Stick with the Monoprice stuff...and save your money.

I use a Swiffer.

I was going to use Windex but somebody on this forum said DON'T DO IT.

I also thought about using some diluted vinegar or lemon juice to clean my screen, but I am concerned that Bounty paper towels might leave dust on the LCD.

I have used Monster and never had a problem with it...what I did find is that you have to used it if the screen is warm it then leave streaks like you mention.

lol

I was waiting for this.

Have any of you looking for the miracle chemical ever bothered to try...WATER? It works perfectly, even on greasy fingerprints, when used with a soft terrycloth towel. It, and the occasional drop of mild dish soap in a large bowl of water, are the only things that ever go near any of my flat panels (plasma, monitors, laptop). This makes your monoprice crap look like a ripoff.

The CRTs still get the Windex.

Tap water is loaded with chemicals and germs. I would boil it first -- or better yet -- use Polands Spring.

I second that. Here's another thing I thought about. Unless you rub your hands on your TV or smoke in your house(I smoke outside), the only thing that should be getting on your screen is a little dust, which will come off with a light dusting.
So what's with all the cleaning products?
On Cnet they were talking about water in a spray bottle and microfiber cloths to clean laptop screens, TV's etc...
Save your money. Sometimes low tech IS better...

Essentially all bottled water is tap water and it's not going to hurt you or your TV.

you are right. I use this product all the time my Tv and mac. You should use it when its turned and cool not hot. otherwise you won't like the result.

i also use this cleaner, i am a smoker so simply dusting is not an option. It worked great a few times both on my tv and laptop screen, then i ran into the streak problem, then none lol, and then streaks again.

The cool down thing sounds dead on though since my laptop actually gets down time and doesn't get the streak problem as often as my tv which is ran pretty much twenty four seven in this house i will have to test this out.

So what's with all the cleaning products?
I was wondering this myself...it's why mine is hung on the wall, out of reach of little hands. And it's high enough that it I have it tilted down for proper viewing, so the screen never sees dust. The top & fans, yeah...but never on the screen.

The only time I've had to clean the screen was when I hung it...then took it down to adjust the height & re-hung it. Beyond that, people in my house know to stay away or lose a finger.
