Default Dented tweeter

I was checking my center speaker's tweeter out today and i accidently dented the silver part in. i got the dent out but you can still tell there was a dent there. did damage my speaker? i played a movie and it sounds fine.

What should i be hearing if it is damaged?

If it sounds fine, there might not be any damage, it just might not look good cosmetically. I would just leave it alone if it sounds fine!

I have heard of dogs, cats, and kids doing damage to the speakers. Your speakers are no good anymore. Send them to me and buy new speakers.

I am just kidding. You should be ok. However, if you were a cat, I would shoot you.

I would make a dent in the other speakers so they all look the same, that way if anyone asks you why they are dented you can tell them that's how they make them now.

Another use for duct tape! For dented speaker dust covers.....Rip off a peice of duct tape, secure tape to dented dust cover...carefully. Then rip off quickly. It should pull out the dent. Easy Peasy!

I have heard of this method with regular tape to pop the cover back out But to rip it off Quickly I would be worried about tearing & damaging it worse !

Not my idea so I can't take credit for it. Just remember it from back in the day However it does work, I tried it on a dented tweeter at a buddy's house a few years back.

This reminds me of that line from Ghostbusters where Louis tells Dana that he turned on his TV real loud so everyone would think both their TV's had something wrong with them.

All about respect that is for sure !!!

I should also mention that it may be possible to reduce or eliminate creases by gently using the heat from a hair dryer. Although I have never tried it, so I can't say for sure.
