Question Wire Management

What's the best way to deal with the massive amount of wires coming off the back of my TV stand? I've got mad wires going in and out of my receiver to all the devices and TV (I really hate Xbox 360s power cord!) It's an insane mess and I want to hide it. Is there some sore of organizer I can buy for the back of my TV stand?

check out my gallery and see how i have solved this problem. get some cable runners, they will hide the wires coming from the back of the set. I also have these along my base boards to hide speaker wires etc

I looked at your set up, nice! There's really to pics of the back of the TV stand. What did you do with all those wires?

i used zip ties on the wires behind the stand. i made sure to not get any of them tangled and then used the zip ties to keep them together. Very cheap but very effective at keeping them organized

It can get insane. I have a tv stand that hide mine well, but it still bothers me.
Right now I am in the middle of upgrading and trying to figure out how to make these wires neat and it’s just not working out

I guess if I had my own home, there would be a few things I would do that I can't do in an apartment

If you look at mine and see my bedroom, that is an example of how I wish I could put things behind the wall.

It actually looks better in person then what you will see, but I still wish it could go behind the wall.

Apartment room so small I put things on a shelf and not a good of it….

My big question is what do you do with the excess lengths of wiring? As I understand it, you're not supposed to coil it up, so how do you mange 2 or 3 extra feet of HDMI cable for example? I'll also be upgrading some things over the next few months and I would like to clean up the rats' next behind my setup as well.

I use Velcro ties. I bought them at AC Moore. Remember not to bundle power cords with other cords. They should also cross at 90 degree angles.

I regards to excess wire, you can snake them into an "s" under your stand.

I never thought about putting the extra wire under the stand. That's a great idea! I brought a bunch of plastic tubing from home depot last week and boy what a job. I never thought it could be such a headache. I'm a NYC sanitation worker and rather than do wire management, I would rather go to work and lift another 12 tons! In the other room(my personal viewing room) that I had to give up to my brother-in law the wires were in the walls already. So when I was doing the wires last week I thought it would be easy. After finishing it in about 3 hours I was exhausted but I was still wondering what to do with the extra wire. I just tied it up and taped it to the wall. It looked neat to everyone else but still bothered me. So thanks for the suggestion.

I used the Techflex F6 Split Sleeve tubes along with velcro and wire ties. It is time consuming but once you finish it it really looks good. Here are some pictures. You can check out more on my HT.
