Default Wire Management

So I look at peoples Ht setups and they look great. The wires are hidden. I dont have a problem with rear speakers wires as they are under the house. My problem is I bought an open back stand and the wires drive me nuts. I look back there and say I am going totake this on. I realy dont know what I can do. The stand does have a center tube for wires which helps alot. It is all the wires coming from all the pieces. Are there any products you guys use or suggestions. I would pics up but the wires drive me crazy. Any help would be great. I dont have the best stuff but I think it shuld look good

A visual would help. But without seeing anything, I would probably suggest zip ties.

This was A little over A year ago . My first open back TV/Gear stand .

You can be creative with wire wraps & zip-ties In hiding wires . Just make sure you keep the power cord & Speaker wires separate from the rest of the cables
This is the back of my gear stand .

From the front ..

Here are some suggestions I sent to another member. The 2nd picture of crazyBLUE's gear stand illustrates what I suggested to this person. The links no longer work, sorry .

" wire management suggestions
First I'd like to say NICE SYSTEM! Your tv stand has great potential for flawless wire management. Don't run cables from your PS3, X-Box 360, Wii & HD cable box thru the cable post holes above/behind them. Instead bundle them with cable ties( http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2 ) keeping them low( out of sight ). Run them straight back & around the cable post, then up or down to where they need to go. Keep all your cable runs horizontal or vertical. Use the horizontal rear spine of your tv stand shelves to conceal horizontal cable runs. Use the two vertical cable post to conceal vertical cable runs.

You might have to purchase longer cables to accomplish this, Monoprice.com has the cheapest prices & carries audio/video cables & power cords, etc( http://www.monoprice.com/products/de...t.asp?c_id=102 ). Bundle any excess wire/cable/cord length figure 8 style. I'd use a cable tie every 10 inches on your cable bundles to keep them tight or you could use loom( http://cableorganizer.com/wire-loom/, http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=080-527 ).

You can use:

cable clips( can be bought at Home Depot or Radio Shack ):
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2062666
http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=2103488
http://cableorganizer.com/richco/adh...wik-klips.html

or

cable ties & mounting bases( can be bought at Home Depot, Radio Shack or Monoprice.com ):
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...ctId=100046280
http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...9f&R=100084509
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2

or

Velcro ties & Velcro dots/tape( Velcro dots/tape can be bought at Walmart. Velcro ties at Monoprice.com )
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
http://www.monoprice.com/products/pr...seq=1&format=2
http://www.uline.com/BL_5051/Velcroreg-Tape

:to attach cable bundles to the horizontal rear edge( spine ) or underside of your tv stand shelves.

You can also use a couple layers of speaker cloth( http://www.parts-express.com/pe/show...number=260-335 ) between the two vertical cable post to create a breathable back on your tv stand.

I want to say thanks. After i posted it, I knew pictures would help. I am a firefighter and I am on duty so I wont b home until friday. I might be able to find the stand online and post. The pictures I saw did give some ideas. I am going to have to play around with for awhile I am sure. My thought was an open stand would give good air flow, which it does. Just doesn't hide wires very well

I use velcro straps like these which you can cut to length.

http://www.thebroadcastshop.com/sale...sp?subcat2=258

The nice part about it is that if you move your equipment often or need to adjust something they are easy to remove and are reusable.

I use to use zipties but hated having to cut them off or worse acidently cutting a wire or cable.

Best of luck with that project. I was in the same situation...I have a stand I bought 2 years ago which provided alot of air circulation but is just to open and leaves a perfect view for the wires. So I tried.. I am hard to satisfy when it comes to my HT so I guess I took the easy way out and just purchased a new stand that has a covered back. CASE CLOSED!
Im sure your situation wont have to come to this but if it does...blackfriday is right around the corner-GOOD DEALS BTW- I have the XL Gems too.

Hi Guys. I am Thomas.
What an Idea! This is very excellent idea for hiding your wire.
Thanks to show images for hiding wires.
