Tray will not open: Sharp Blu-ray Player Model

Does anyone know how to fix the fact that our Sharp Blu Ray player trey will not open? I've tried turning it off and on, unplugging it, even shaking it thinking maybe the disc became disloged. The message on the screen says the trey is open (which it is not).

The model is BD-HP21U

Aside from taking it apart and checking it to see if there is anything stuck inside there is not much you can do.

If its still under warranty try and get it service.

try holding in the power button (10 sec) to reset the unit. just a shot in the dark.

There should be a tiny hole in the front panel. A toothpick or a striaghtened paperclip gently inserted may get it open for you..This is a prescibed procedure with most if not all DVD/CD drives....
