I took a sneak peek at FF, and it looks to me better than the IMAX print I saw. Contrastier, sharper, less hazy/fuzzy. Aki's dream reconstruction is in HD too. Improvement over my PAL DVD. More skin spots!

I got it today, but have been too busy assembling my new computer. It has a 3.0GHz C2D, 4GB RAM, and a GeForce 8800gtx. Now I just need a blu-ray drive. I do already have a PS3 for watching Blu-rays though.

Watched a few scenes from it after TMNT.

It looks good... Very good. Better than I remember it being at the theatre to be honest [which isn't surprising].

Now, if I see someone complain about the grain in the movie though I will cry.

There has always been a "texture" of grain to take the cheesy edge off the CG. All "serious" CG movies have done this

FF, FF:AC, TMNT, etc etc

Default Final Fantasy in anamorphic widescreen?

I noticed that when i was watching Final Fantasy on my Playstation 3 it was in full screen because i set my PS3 to play any dvd in full screen but i didnt realize it could that with Blu-Ray as well. This is only my 3rd Blu-Ray movie so far so if this has been a possibility before this im sorry but i really do think its a great idea because not everyone wants the widescreen picture i know i sure dont thats why i did this to my ps3 in the 1st place even though its hooked up to my widescreen HDTV.

Yep. An obvious thematic/artistic choice in the matter.

Final Fantasy:TSW is a 1.85:1 movie, and therefore would fill the entire screen of your widescreen television

I already have the SD. I like the movie. Is it worth a re-purchase?
